Diving into Oregon’s Marine Reserves Program

  • This event has passed.

Join us at the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum on Wednesday, May 8,  for a presentation by Dr. Lindsay Aylesworth, the Oregon Marine Reserves Program Leader.

She will share about the fascinating scientific research carried out by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the agency’s partners in Oregon’s nearshore waters. Learn how the Marine Reserves Program is planning to move into adaptive management, as HB 4132 successfully passed in the most recent legislative session. The bill ensures funding for the program moving forward.

NCLC Marine Program Coordinator Angela Whitlock will give an introduction. The organization has a special connection to Cape Falcon Marine Reserve, the northernmost site in the marine reserve system.

All are welcome to attend. No registration is required, but seating is limited to 50.

This presentation is being hosted in conjunction with the “Reserve Inspiration” art exhibition at the Cannon Beach Gallery from May 3 to June 2. There will be a reception at the art gallery following Aylesworth’s talk on May 8.
