These NCLC habitat reserves are accessible only by canoe or kayak; put in at a nearby public boat landing and paddle to the property. Walking on the property is not allowed. Most are accessible only at high tide.

BLIND SLOUGH SWAMP

ACCESS: The closest kayak or canoe access is at the former Knappa Dock location, at the north end of Knappa Dock Road, 1.5 miles north of US 101 at Knappa. There is currently no formal landing or dock, but paddlers can park along the road and carry boats down the bank.

COAL CREEK SWAMP

ACCESS: Coal Creek Swamp is accessible via the North Fork Nehalem River. The closest kayak or canoe access points are the public dock at US 101 and Tohls Street in Nehalem and Aldervale Boat Launch off Highway 53.

FISHERS POINT

ACCESS: Closest kayak or canoe access is at Wheeler Waterfront Park, just off US 101 at the foot of Rector Street in Wheeler.

JOHN DAY RIVER MARSH

ACCESS: Closest kayak or canoe access is the boat landing at John Day County Park, on US 30 east of Astoria. John Day River Marsh is about 2.5 miles upstream.
