Clear Lake Habitat Reserve
Clear Lake Habitat Reserve is an important interdunal lake in the Warrenton area that NCLC protected in 2013. Help us continue our restoration efforts there by removing a variety of invasive species that threaten various parts of the property. We may go after any Scotch broom lingering around the lake’s edges; blackberry to free up native plantings; reed canarygrass that threatens the emergent wetlands; small patches of parrot’s feather that cover the water’s surface; and yellow flag iris—another aquatic invader. Whoever gets the most invasive plant species removed wins!
What to Bring: It is recommended you wear long pants/sleeves and rubber boots to this event. It can be sunny and sometimes buggy at this site, so come prepared for both. Also bring water, lunch, and work gloves if you have them. Leather gloves are recommended if you help with blackberry. NCLC will provide tools and snacks. No bathroom onsite and please leave your pets at home.
