Tidepooling Adventure at Cape Falcon Marine Reserve

The tidepools at Short Sand Beach, adjacent to Cape Falcon Marine Reserve, are teeming with incredible marine life, from anemones and sea stars to barnacles, chitons, and nudibranchs!

NCLC Marine Program Coordinator Angela Whitlock will be leading a tidepool adventure from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23. Come along and get to know the wonderful creatures that live in this sensitive intertidal ecosystem and learn how we can be better stewards of our majestic Oregon Coast.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required.

Where to Meet: We will meet at in the main parking area for Short Sand Beach at Oswald West State Park.

What to Bring: Participants are encouraged to dress for the day’s weather (layers and hats). Plus, bring water and snacks and wear appropriate footwear (sandals or flip flops not recommended), such as waterproof boots. Binoculars are recommended. Pets are not allowed to attend these outings.
