Interested in volunteering for our Tidepool Ambassador Program (TAP) at Cape Falcon Marine Reserve this summer? Register to attend a TAP training, taking place in partnership with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program (HRAP) in Cannon Beach.
During this in-person training at Haystack Rock, attendees will learn about TAP and receive training to volunteer during the 2024 summer season. It will cover the basics of interpretation, intertidal biodiversity, sea birds, and protected/regulated areas.
After attending this training, you will be eligible to volunteer for TAP and will be contacted by staff about an additional training opportunity at Oswald West State Park’s Short Sand Beach, the official Cape Falcon Marine Reserve TAP site. After training, TAP volunteers then get to sign up for shifts throughout the TAP season (3- to 4-hour shifts from June to September). TAP volunteers are supported during every shift by (2) seasonal TAP staff.
