These freshwater wetlands provide an important foraging area for migrating birds and waterfowl.

The Creep and Crawl Lake property actually encompasses three of Warrenton’s interdunal lakes, including part of Crabapple and Abbot Lakes and all of the imaginatively named Creep and Crawl Lake. These freshwater wetlands provide an important foraging area for migrating birds and waterfowl, and the property is home to many Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board North Coast Basin Priority species such as Band-tailed Pigeon, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Pacific-slope Flycatcher and Rufous Hummingbird, as well as a thriving population of elk, deer and beavers.

The land is almost entirely surrounded by protected properties, bordering Camp Kiwanalong and Fort Stevens State Park.
