Volunteer

From stewardship, site monitoring and educational events to office work, planning, and grant tracking, volunteers play a vital role in every aspect of NCLC’s work.

How Can You Volunteer at NCLC?

Stewardship Days

Everyone is welcome to join our Stewardship Days, whether you’re a first-timer or a regular volunteer. Our stewardship program is a great way to visit some of NCLC’s most special properties, while helping with stewardship activities that will help keep the land healthy and thriving.

Weed Warrior Wednesdays

Each Wednesday, our stewardship crew plans to be at one of our properties on the Oregon North Coast. W³ days focus on whatever the land steward determines is that week’s priority. Often it involves weed removal activities but may include other kinds of projects, such as seeding, planting and plant maintenance, native plant caretaking, trail building/maintenance, and site cleanups.

Help at Cape Falcon Marine Reserve

Get involved in community science, stewardship, and education at Cape Falcon Marine Reserve, the centerpiece of NCLC’s marine program. There are various opportunities throughout the year, from serving as a tidepool ambassador to bird monitoring and conducting sea star surveys. Stay up to date on upcoming volunteers activities via our Events Page.

Become a Site Steward

Site Stewards are highly dedicated volunteers who agree to visit, report on, and conduct stewardship duties at one or more assigned NCLC habitat reserves three to four times a year. With more than 60 habitat reserves spread over three counties, NCLC has come to depend on our Site Stewardship Program.
