Any way you add it up, 2014 was a banner year for North Coast Land Conservancy, thanks to the support of our more than 1,500 donors and volunteers. Last month Executive Director Katie Voelke added up some of those accomplishments and put them to music. Here’s the final verse of “The Twelve Months of Conservation” (sung to the tune of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”):
In 2014 our donors and volunteers …
Dug with 12 shovels,
Completed 111 site visits,
Planted 10,000 willows,
Raised nearly $900,000,
Stuffed 8,000 envelopes,
Attended 77 meetings,
Mowed 600 acres,
Gave 5,470 hours,
Hosted 40 events
Weeded 300 hundred acres
Counted 200 hundred salmon
And conserved 1,000 acres of land!
