NCLC’s Rainforest Reserve contains an abundance of sensitive habitat for plants and wildlife. So far, Scotch broom isn’t prevalent on the reserve, and we hope to keep it that way!
Join our stewardship team for broom busting at the Rainforest Reserve on Saturday, June 22.
Due to transportation logistics, there is limited capacity for this work party, so sign up early! Directions of where to meet will be shared after registration. This work party also is longer than usual, in order to maximize our time up in the Rainforest Reserve.
What to Bring: Sturdy boots and clothing, rain gear and/or sunscreen, a hat, a lunch, and water for the day. NCLC will provide tools and gloves, but feel free to bring your own if you have some you like to use. Tools like loppers and hand saws are particularly useful for Scotch broom removal.
