With guided nature walks off the table at this time due to the pandemic, Astoria naturalist Mike Patterson has been creating “virtual bioblitzes” on iNaturalist for the North Coast Land Conservancy community.
iNaturalist is an online social network of people sharing biodiversity information to help each other learn about and appreciate nature. You can use it to record your own observations, get help with identifications, collaborate with others to collect this kind of information for a common purpose, or access the observational data collected by iNaturalist users.
The July 2020 theme is Insect Appreciation Month.
Mike has been creating a series of videos to help you get started on iNaturalist, take and upload photos of bugs, and find bugs.
