Seven years later, it’s beavertopia

Back in 2013 North Coast Land Conservancy undertook a wetlands restoration project at its Thompson Creek and Stanley Marsh Habitat Reserve in Seaside. Developer Casey Corkrey worked with Doug Ray of Carex Consulting, who designed the project to encourage beavers to do most of the work. NCLC supporter Corey Davis recently took drone footage of the project, and it’s clear to see the success of the project, and the impact beavers had, creating a network of connected wetlands throughout the 4-acre project area. NCLC invites you to enjoy this 6-minute video. It’s easy to see the water built up behind beaver dams; look carefully to spot the beaver dams themselves.
