On The Land in Neacoxie Forest

May 24, 2012

NCLC’s very first On The Land program took place last week, a walk in Neacoxie Forest with local nature photographer (and NCLC founder) Neal Maine.  This forest is one of Neal’s favorite places on the North Coast, and it’s always a treat to get to visit it with him.

Keeping our groups small helps to lessen our impact on the lands we visit, and helps keep the experience special for those taking part.  We’re still working a few bugs out of the system in our snappy new online registration system, so thanks to everyone who figured out how to find the site in spite of the maps- we’ll have this sorted out before the next program!

If you missed this walk, there are still a few spots left for Neal’s July 7th walk at Neacoxie Forest again- sign up soon, this one is sure to fill up again.

Thanks to Neal Maine for sharing this special spot with everyone, and to Neal and Doug Wood for the great photos.

Be sure to check out the full 2012 schedule of On The Land programs, we’ve got some great walks, hikes and paddle trips planned from now through October, and we’re already starting to get ideas about next year. It is so great to be able to share these special places with you- thank for joining us on the land!
