This site is a mixed spruce forest with a few hemlock. It has high value as riparian habitat on the Neawanna. These small patches of Sitka spruce forest bordering estuary systems are becoming rare on the Oregon Coast. This small forest is connected to a larger forest in the north and serves as habitat for migratory and resident birds, including blue herons.
