Magical Rainforest Trivia Night

October 29, 2020

Thursday, Oct. 29
7 to 8 pm
Registration capacity is limited; register before 2 pm Oct. 29

How much do you know about the rainforest: in science, in literature, even in sports? Everyone has a shot at winning at NCLC’s first virtual trivia night. You just need to be able to connect to the Zoom platform via a tablet, smartphone, or computer. Join by yourself or round up some friends and form a team: your team members can all be in different locations, anywhere in the world, conferring about your answers offline via text. Pick a fun team name and win some smiles!

The winning team will receive a fabulous gift basket containing a pound of Sleepy Monk coffee, two Rainforest Reserve face coverings, and a box of Rainforest Reserve notecards illustrated by Astoria artist Sally Lackaff.

We’ll be doing a little fundraising (we are trying to buy a rainforest, after all), but this is mainly a fun-raising event and an excuse to gather—virtually—with our community as the days grow shorter. Grab your favorite beverage, get online, and see how much you really know about the rainforest—magical and otherwise! Every dollar raised up to $1000 will be matched by a generous donor.

Pro tip #1: Teams with diverse ages and interests may have an edge. Name one team member to write down your answers and keep track of your score.

Pro tip #2: If your team is in one location, with everyone sharing a screen, only one person needs to register. If your team is geographically scattered, each person (or group sharing a screen) will need to register.

Pro tip #3: For scattered teams, use a laptop or tablet to join the trivia night, while using your smartphone to text with your teammates, wherever they are. (We will not be using Zoom “breakout rooms.”)
