From tree planting to fish counting to wetland restoration to fund raising to office
help, volunteers are always needed. Whether you have an hour or a day, your contribution
will make an enourmous difference. Please consider volunteering a little of your time to the North Coast Land Conservancy.
We are currently looking specifically for volunteers in the following areas:
Coastal Natural History Center Interpreter
Personable individuals with an interest in nature, the outdoors, and natural history a desire to spend time in a relaxed setting watching birds and other wildlife from the deck of our center overlooking the beautiful Necanicum river estuary only need apply. Knowledge or training in a specific field (e.g. birding, ecology, geology, etc.), is helpful but not a requirement. 4 hour shifts at the Coastal Natural History Center, one or more days a month. Email or call volunteer coordinator Jeanne Henderson, 503-738-9126 for more information.
Program Coordination
We can always use help planning and conducting programs at the Coastal Natural History Center.
Picking up chairs, setting up, making sure the presenter has everything he or she needs, maybe grabbing some
chips and dip for the attendees. We don't depend on any one person to do all the programs, and the Natural History Center volunteers often trade off. But we can always use more help, so if you are interested, please contact volunteer coordinator Jeanne Henderson, 503-738-9126.
Habitat Enhancement
Do you love being out in nature? Would you like to help with wildlife habitat enhancement? NCLC is continually conducting a variety of habitat enhancement activites across the breadth of our properties. Join us for 4th Saturdays Habitat Enhancement or volunteer at other times -- for more information contact our Land Steward Katie Voelke, 503-738-9126.
Volunteer perks: a group of Mazama Volunteers were recently were treated to a guided cross-country hike in
little-known, rarely visited area of old-growth forest on the western flank of Saddle Mountain.
