Mill Ponds Adventure!Saturday July 10, 10 A.M. - 12 P.M., Seaside Mill Ponds
Led by: Mike Patterson, Lee Cain & NCLC staff. Grab your boots and join us by the pond as we use dip nets, buckets and magnifying glasses to explore the web of life in a coastal pond. Great for kids of all ages! Dress for the weather (and then some -- it could get a bit wet!) including wet weather shoes. The walk around the ponds is about 1 mile, level ground with a well maintained trail, but we may be going off-trail a bit. Please leave pets at home. Directions: We'll meet at Alder Mill Road off of Avenue S in Seaside. To get there, take Avenue S East from Highway 101 about 0.2 miles to Alder Mill Road [map]. The Mill Pond site is a short walk from there. And be sure to check out our other upcoming events here. |

North Coast Land Conservancy's Gateway to Discovery field programs provide an entry point to Oregon's coastal riches -- birding, geology, and a salmon rich watershed. These programs serve the community and its visitors by extending beyond the walls of any building. Come walk in an ancient spruce forest, learn about local birding in a restored estuarine lake, watch for bald eagles while the tides come and go, learn about the region's natural, cultural, and historical resources. |
