OPENING CELEBRATION

1 to 4 p.m.
Astoria Art Loft
106 Third St., Astoria

Following the successful Beaver Tales art exhibit in Seaside the month of May, the Astoria Art Loft is taking the month of June to exhibit art featuring “beavers and the contributions they make to the environment,” according to painter and Art Loft co-owner Jo Pomeroy-Crockett.

The beaver art show, featuring work by both children and adult artists, opens June 6. The Art Loft gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pomery-Crockett expects to have one or more speakers on hand to talk about the artwork and about beavers’ contributions to the coastal landscape during the show’s opening celebration on Saturday, June 10 (preceding Astoria’s Second Saturday Art Walk from 5 to 8 p.m.) The gallery will also show the documentary Leave it to Beavers during the June 10 opening.  A portion of the proceeds from sales of work in the beaver art show will benefit North Coast Land Conservancy.
